Terms of Use

TravelKonnekt connects travellers with the people around them, run by the TravelKonnekt founding team. These are the house rules. They are short on purpose: a community like this runs on common decency, and most of what follows is just that, written down.

Your account

• You need to be 18 or over to join.
• Your account is yours: sign in with your own email and be yourself in here. One person, one account.
• You can delete your account any time from your Journey page, and everything you have put in goes with it.

The house rules

• Be decent. Talk to people here like you would at the camp kitchen.
• No scams, no spam, no harassment, nothing unlawful.
• Businesses in the community share what is on and fund rewards. They do not cold-message travellers, and travellers should report any that do.
• If something is not right, use the “⋯” button to report it or to block the person. Reports go to the team, and only the team.

We can remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules. We would rather never need to.

Get-togethers

Get-togethers on TravelKonnekt are folks arranging to do something together: a walk, a game of cards, a cuppa. They are informal, they are not organised or run by TravelKonnekt, and you join in at your own choice, the same as if a neighbour had invited you over. Providers who visit parks (the yoga teacher, the mobile hairdresser) are arranged by the park and carry their own insurance.

Points and rewards

Contribution points say thanks for showing up and offering a hand. They are not money, have no cash value, and can change or end as the community evolves. Rewards are honoured by the local businesses that offer them, while they offer them.

The AI helpers

The Guide and the Sounding Board are AI helpers, not people, and they can get things wrong. The Guide's local tips are worth double-checking before you drive an hour on them. The Sounding Board is a companion, not therapy, not counselling and not medical advice: if you need a professional, see one, and if you are ever unsafe, call Lifeline on 13 11 14.

Your content

What you post is yours. By posting it you let us show it in the app so the community can see it, which is the point of posting. Post only what is yours to share.

The legal paragraph

We provide TravelKonnekt with care but as it comes: it is a community noticeboard and a way to meet people, not a guarantee about the people, businesses, events or information in it. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Beyond those rights, our responsibility is limited to re-supplying the service. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
